Why does society want this to continue being the story of girls?
PDI dares you to challenge the story and change the conversation so that the life stability of girls during their transition into adulthood becomes the focus of attention. Empowerment of Black Females in Minnesota is our core mission.
OUR
Story.
The journey began in 2007–08 at Dunwoody Academy Charter School in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Under the leadership of Neda Kellogg, Etosha Cook and Jahonna Olsen, a pilot coaching program took root. What started as a school girls group quickly revealed the deep need for structured support, a basic understanding of how to elevate through school and community and sisterhood among girls navigating personal challenges. Since day one, Empowering Black Females in Minneapolis has been the unifying theme of all we have done.
It was in May of 2009 that this dream took shape as Project DIVA International, a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to raising girls into critical thinkers who embrace emotional control, mental agility and economic self-sufficiency.

We exist for her because she intrinsically desires more, and because the world needs her brilliance. Empowering Black Females in Minneapolis means investing in that brilliance every single day.

It is through the partnerships that we are able to connect with the resources needed, provide safe havens for growth, and open up doors of opportunity for the next generation.
